Internal - Creating Double Height Banner Ads

Support is now available for 1st level spotlight listing to now have a double height banner when shown with matching keywords.

In order to support this, the following changes have been made in Ad manager:

1. Adunit TargetORGeneralAdSlot1 has now been set to accept creative sizes of

180x600 only.

2. We have introduced a new ad unit called TargetORGeneralAdSlot6 which supports 180x300 creatives.

The reason for the change is because if there are contending line items, which are targeted banners 180 x 300(and thus have the same “Sponsorship” priority set), we were unable to govern how the banners were being served. Sometimes 180 x600 banner was served in pos #1, other times it was not and was being replaced by the contending 180x300 version, because at that time the TargetORGeneralAdSlot1 was supporting 180x300 AND 180x600.

So the change we have made will now have the following expected behaviour:

· Targeted ad slot 1 only serves 180x600

· slots 2,3,4,5,6 to serve 180x300 creatives only

Therefore:

· If matched line items exists, creatives for adslot 1 exists (180x600 only) then we

will display on the search results adslots 1,2,3,4,5,6. Adslot 1 will support the double height banner, slots 2-6 the 180x300

· If matched creatives (180x600) for adslot 1 does not exist, then we will display adslots 2,3,4,5,6, however they will assume the position of adslot 1, so it will look as though there are in slots 1-5

Creative specs

Specification for the new 180x600 creatives are as follows:

· 180x300

· Gif, jpg or png

· 1mb in size

Creating the line items

Follow the same procedure for creating a new order as if you were creating a targeted banner with the following changes

1) Change in the naming of the order “Double height banner” rather than Targeted banner

2) When adding the Creative, ensure size is set to 180x600

In Ad targeting, when setting the inventory parameters ensure TargetedOrGeneralAdSlot1 is defined in Ad Units. This is in addition to setting the Placements.
