The Digital Procurement Practice

What is ShipServ’s Digital Procurement Practice (DPP) and its benefits.

The Digital Procurement Practice (DPP) is a next generation trading and purchasing service that acts as an extended arm of a maritime buyer’s procurement team.

Our ambition for the supplier community is to create an environment that enables suppliers to sell more efficiently and effectively.

What are its benefits for Suppliers?

There are three primary benefits for suppliers when they opt to DPP:

1. Quicker payment

· Faster Invoicing: E-invoicing to be introduced allowing suppliers to share invoices, supporting material and perform match to PO in your existing ShipServ system, for faster approval and payment

· Reduce errors: Opportunity to integrate the suppliers’ own finance system with ShipServ through EDI or a new flexible API integration, as per their own choice.

2. Increase trading volume

· Greater business opportunity and long-term partnership with buyers, and as a connected and trusted ‘go-to’ supplier they will have the opportunity to sell more.

· Showcase their products and services: through efficient digital catalogue sharing suppliers will be able to share their product updates, sustainability credentials and other relevant information.

3. Save you time and resources

· More Direct Purchase Orders (POs):

by using catalogues and contracts there is an ambition to reduce Request for Quotes (RFQs) and move towards direct POs to avoid valuable time spent on quotes

· Easy identification and validation:

In the absence of a catalogue, RFQs and POs will get enriched by suppliers identifying their Supplier Product codes/ID. This way the system learns and quoting/purchase order confirmation will be made easier and faster.

· Automated workflow:

Opportunity to directly connect workflows through new ShipServ APIs (e.g. order updates, logistics integration etc.)
